🟢 The DA LAB Foundation presents Dimitra Kousteridou (GR), the first participant in an experimental art-research residency from September 10 to October 4, 2024, in Sofia. During this period, we will hold a public presentation, a one-day workshop, and a performance featuring her.

🟢 Dimitra Kousteridou (GR) is a composer, researcher, and sound artist who currently lives and works in Athens, Greece. After earning her diploma in “Art and Design,” she continued her studies with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Hanze University|Academy Minerva, Groningen (NL), and a master’s degree in “Music Composition with New Media” from the Department of Musicology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (GR).

Her work is driven by a desire to invent a compositional language that improvisationally explores tactile and sonic aspects within the framework of site-specific installations and performances. Through multidisciplinary forms that incorporate ephemeral situations and the fragmentation of objects, she creates a space for exploration while utilizing sound and the natural qualities of materials over time. Recently, she has been working on improvised sound compositions using handmade instruments (interactive sound circuits).

She has presented her research at conferences and festivals, as well as in solo and group exhibitions in Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, Lebanon, Serbia, and the United Kingdom. She is a founding member of the experimental project “6.8KOhm Improvisation Series,” a long-term improvisational initiative in collaboration with musicians and artists.
